From the district’s web site (www.crwflags.net/4rd) and repeated here for convenience:

All leaders must complete the following on-line training courses. Per National, all leaders must be trained in order to recharter for year 2011. On-line courses can be found at www.olc.scouting.org  (Len note: you have to set up an account, and to do this, you need to know your BSA membership number.)

  • This is Scouting

  • Safety Afloat (if den does anything with boats)

Tiger Leaders must also take the following training:

Webelos Leaders must take the following training:

Pack Committee must take the following training:

  • Fast Start for Pack Committee (on-line)
  • Pack Committee training (offered at spring/fall Megatraining)

Various leader trainings will also be offered at Roundtables. (Len note: I’ll post these separately)

Len note: I need to check about the BALOO training for Tiger/Wolf/Bear leaders. It used to be only required for Webelos and/or at least a few leaders if the pack is camping. Also – much of this training is available in other districts, so you if you can’t make Megatraining (all Cub Scout training rolled in to one), check out the other Baltimore Area Council districts.

Last Call for Mega-Training

Just a reminder that April Mega-Training will be this Sunday at Harbor Hospital. Go to www.crwflags.net/4rd for the forms. Walk-ins are fine, but advance warning to the registrar (Mike Norris) is appreciated. I hear this will be the last time that New Leader Essentials. In the future, that and similar “newbie” courses will be on-line.

Mega-Training

The first in an occasional series on training opportunities…

Four Rivers District will be holding its next Mega-Training on Sunday, April 26, 2009, at Harbor Hospital. Any training you want from New Leader Essentials to Leader-Specific Training will be available. A registration form is attached to this e-mail. If I remember correctly, the pack will cover the cost of this training.
